Your PTA in Action!
A strong school is defined by its partnership with parents, teachers, and administration. That school is Harvard Elementary and its conduit is your PTA - at work!
Your partnership with the PTA enriches the educational experience for all Harvard students.Your contributions to the PTA make these activities and events possible:
Class Parents: Class Parents are designated parents in each class who assist teachers with communicating class specific events and information, such as class celebrations, field trips, etc.
Grade Level Reps: Your Grade Level representative is board member of the PTA and represents and advocates for the designated grade level. They provide information from the PTA that is directly related to the grade.
Assemblies: Assemblies are brought to you by the Education Committee of the PTA. These are exciting and rewarding events at Harvard that enrich and broaden children's learning experiences. From Discovery Dome to performances from the Houston Grand Opera, these events are sure to drive children's imaginations!
Field Trips: All Field Trips are paid for and supported by the Harvard PTA
Allocations to School and Teachers: Each year, funds are provided to teachers equally for classroom and learning materials.
Garden: The garden is maintained by parent volunteers and through your PTA partnership with Urban Harvest.
Field Day: Each year, Harvard Field day is made possible by the PTA
Magnet Tours: Current Harvard parents welcoming prospective parents demonstrates strong parent support of our amazing school!
School Infrastructure - Each year, Harvard PTA dedicates funds toward school infrastructure improvements. Last year we donated funds to provide an outdoor (refrigerated) water fountain on the north wing of campus, near the playground.
