Student Design Competition – 2024/25 Harvard Elementary T-Shirt

It’s t-shirt design time! Every year we call on students to design one of our Harvard t-shirts. The winner of this contest will have their design featured on 2024/25 Harvard Elementary t-shirts and be recognized in the Harvard PTA newsletter, on social media, and will receive a free t-shirt with their design on it!

How It Works

  • Submit the design to homeroom teacher by Thursday April 11

  • A committee will select five designs for students, teachers, and admin to vote on

  • The winner of this contest will have their design featured on 2024/5 Harvard Elementary t-shirts and be recognized in the Harvard PTA newsletter, on social media, and will receive a free t-shirt with their design on it!

  • Teachers, you are welcome to make this a classroom activity!

Design Guidelines

  • Design must be on a single 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper

  • Must include the word Harvard

  • Design must be for the front of the shirt only

  • Student drawings only! Parents, please do not assist!

    • Parents are welcome to submit designs as well! Although they won't be eligible for the competition, the committee will consider them as a t-shirt option.

Eligibility/Entry

  • Submissions must include students first and last name, grade, and homeroom teacher on back of paper

  • Only one design submission per student

  • All designs must be original art

  • All electronic design must be printed and provided to homeroom teacher

  • By submitting an entry, the designer grants Harvard Elementary PTA to use the design, to post it on their online sites, and to modify the design as necessary

Designs will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Originality

  • Visibility – Is it eye catching and visible from a distance

  • Feasibility – Must be easy to reproduce

Important dates

  • Submit the design to homeroom teacher by Thursday April 11

  • Vote for best shirt Monday April 15 to Monday April 22

  • Winner announced by Wednesday April 24
